Unibank issued AMD and USD bonds with 10.5% and 5.3% yield

02/05/2021 Unibank has issued AMD and USD denominated bonds with high annual coupon yield, 10.5% and 5.3%, respectively. The issue volume for AMD bonds makes 1 billion AMD, for dollar bonds - 5 million USD.
 
The maturity of AMD bonds is 27 months, while in the case of USD - 36 months. Coupon income will be paid quarterly.
 
Unibank bonds can be purchased at the bank's head office or at any of its 53 branches. These are the 13th and 14th issues of Unibank. The placement of the newly issued bonds is scheduled till March 25, 2021, after which the bonds will be listed on the AMX Armenia Stock Exchange. The secondary listing of the bonds will be held on the Moscow Stock Exchange, due to which Russian investors can acquire them without opening an account in Armenia.
 
The main advantages of bonds are guaranteed high income and security. According to the Law of the Republic of Armenia "On Guaranteeing the Compensation of Bank Deposits of Individuals", the funds attracted by the nominal bonds issued by the bank are considered as bank deposits guaranteed by the "Deposit Guarantee Fund". From December 1, 2020, the limits of guaranteed deposits have been raised. Only in case of dram deposit, it makes 16 million drams, in case of foreign currency deposit - 7 million drams.
 
Another important advantage is that income from bonds listed on the Armenian Stock Exchange with a maturity of two or more years is not taxable.
